About Marigold Commerce

Marigold Commerce builds order management and returns tooling for direct-to-consumer brands selling across Latin America. Around 45 people work here in Spanish, Portuguese and English, often all three in the same thread. Our customers are brands doing between one and fifty thousand orders a month, and they churn when onboarding stalls, which is the problem this role exists to solve.

This is a twelve-month contract engagement with the intention of converting to a permanent role if it goes well on both sides.

What you'll do

  • Own the customer lifecycle from trial signup through to the ninetieth day, where most of our churn happens.
  • Rebuild our onboarding email and in-product messaging sequences, which were written two years ago for a product that has since changed considerably.
  • Segment properly. A brand shipping cross-border from Brazil has almost nothing in common with a local Mexican merchant, and our messaging currently pretends otherwise.
  • Write and adapt copy in Spanish and Portuguese, working with our content colleagues rather than sending everything through translation.
  • Run experiments with enough statistical care that we can believe the results, and be willing to report the ones that failed.
  • Build reporting that connects lifecycle activity to activation and retention, in partnership with the data team.

What we're looking for

  • Four or more years in lifecycle, CRM or growth marketing at a B2B or commerce software company.
  • Hands-on experience with a marketing automation platform, including building and maintaining non-trivial segmentation logic.
  • Genuinely strong copywriting in Spanish, plus working Portuguese or the ability to edit it confidently.
  • Analytical discipline: you understand what a test can and cannot tell you, and you do not call a result early.
  • Comfort operating independently as a contractor, invoicing monthly, with clear self-directed priorities.
  • Based in Latin America with overlap with Mexico City business hours.

Nice to have

  • Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces or logistics software.
  • Familiarity with product-led growth motions and in-app messaging tools.
  • SQL for pulling your own numbers rather than queueing for the data team.

Benefits

  • Home office budget provided at the start of the engagement.
  • Asynchronous working with one weekly team call.
  • Access to the company learning budget for courses and conferences.
  • Invoiced monthly with payment terms of fifteen days, which we hold to.

Benefits

🪑 Home office budget🔄 Async-first📚 Learning budget
