About Harborline Logistics

Harborline Logistics sells freight visibility and settlement software to mid-sized carriers and forwarders across northern Europe. The company started as a port operations consultancy, which shows: our finance team is expected to understand how a demurrage charge actually arises, not just where it lands in the ledger. We are around 110 people, remote across six countries, with a small office in Rotterdam that nobody is required to visit.

What you'll do

  • Own the operating model, including the revenue build, headcount plan and the unit economics by customer segment that inform pricing.
  • Run the monthly close cycle alongside our accountants, producing variance analysis that explains causes rather than restating numbers.
  • Build the reporting pack for our board and lenders, and be prepared to answer follow-up questions without a week of preparation.
  • Partner with the commercial team on pricing and contract structure, particularly the usage-based components that make revenue recognition interesting.
  • Improve our forecasting process so that the quarterly number stops being a surprise to everyone including us.
  • Take on a project to replace our current mix of spreadsheets and manual exports with something more durable.

What we're looking for

  • Three or more years in financial planning and analysis, investment banking, transaction services or a similar analytical finance role.
  • Genuinely strong modelling skills. We will ask you to build something during the process, and we care about structure and auditability as much as the answer.
  • Understanding of subscription and usage-based revenue models, including deferred revenue and the metrics that follow from it.
  • Experience with an ERP such as NetSuite, and comfort querying data directly rather than waiting for an export.
  • Clear communication with people who do not enjoy finance, delivered without condescension.
  • Based in Europe with the right to work in one of the listed countries.

Nice to have

  • A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or a local equivalent, in progress or completed.
  • Exposure to logistics, transport or another operationally complex sector.
  • SQL, or a real appetite to learn it in the first few months.

Benefits

  • Health insurance and a pension contribution appropriate to your country of employment.
  • Sixteen weeks of paid parental leave, available to all parents.
  • Home office budget of EUR 1,500 plus an annual refresh allowance.
  • Study support, including exam fees and paid study leave for a professional qualification.

Benefits

🏥 Health insurance🏦 Retirement / 401(k)🪑 Home office budget📚 Learning budget👶 Paid parental leave
